New Criminal Proceedings Prepared Against Garegin II: 'Hraparak'
Authorities are preparing new criminal proceedings against Garegin II. According to reports, the Investigative Committee is examining charges under the article of "money laundering." This information comes from the newspaper "Hraparak."
"As part of this proceeding, the director of 'Shoghakat' television, Manya Ghazaryan, has been questioned, and she is also involved in the case. "Yes, I have been summoned to the Investigative Committee as a witness. I cannot provide details about the questioning because I am not sure if I have the right to do so. I can only say that the criminal case has nothing to do with 'Shoghakat,' it is an unfounded criminal case, and I do not see anything serious," Ghazaryan told the newspaper.
The case pertains to an apartment that the Mother See granted to the long-term director of "Shoghakat" from its fund. Later, the owner sold this apartment. The Investigative Committee qualifies that transaction as money laundering carried out by the Supreme Patriarch of the Armenian Apostolic Church," the newspaper reported.
Auroranews did not receive comments from the Investigative Committee regarding this information.
