Questions Arise on NATO's Response if Russia Attacks: Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that if Russia attacks Lithuania or Poland, it remains an open question as to who would really bear responsibility and how NATO would respond. He noted that Europe largely relies on the belief that the alliance would act in the face of danger, but there have been no practical examples to support this notion.
Zelensky also addressed the developments surrounding Greenland, pointing out that most European leaders lack a clear understanding of the situation and seem to be waiting for the United States to exhaust discussion on the topic. He raised the question of what message sending 40 soldiers to Greenland sends to Russia.
The Ukrainian president mentioned that Russia has deployed missiles in Belarus that could reach EU territory, while Europe, in his assessment, is not taking sufficient action. He emphasized that Russia is obtaining components for missiles not only from China but also from European and American sources.
Zelensky stated that Ukraine is fully committed to achieving an end to the war, but stronger pressure on Russia is necessary. According to him, Europe needs the independence of Ukraine, as European countries may face the need to defend their way of life in the future.
