Court Invalidates Land Transactions Related to Hovik Abrahamyan
The Anti-Corruption Court has upheld the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, specifically the Department for the Protection of State Interests, with a ruling dated January 22, 2026. Following the legal enforcement of the ruling, a land plot of 8.9 hectares located in the village of Mkhchyan will be returned to the consolidated community of Artashat.
The Prosecutor General’s Office had sought to invalidate the auction held on September 22, 2004, concerning the sale of the 8.9-hectare land plot and apply the consequences of invalidity. Among other requests, the court has been asked to declare void the sales agreement signed on November 2, 2004, between the village head of Mkhchyan and Argam Abrahamyan, the son of former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan. Additionally, the state registration of rights in Argam Abrahamyan's name, conducted on November 4, 2004, as well as the donation agreement signed between Argam and Hovik Abrahamyan on March 10, 2005, and the corresponding state registration of rights in Hovik Abrahamyan's name based on this contract, were also requested to be annulled.
