3000 Dram Refund for Textbooks: Minister of Education Details

In the 5th and 6th grades, textbooks will become completely free. This was stated by Minister of Education and Science Zhanna Andreasyan during a Q&A session in the National Assembly.

“The universal income declaration system also considers the fees for textbooks under the social credit option. This means that each parent with children in grades 5-12 will receive a one-time refund of 3000 drams as compensation for the textbook rental fees. Over 300,000 parents will benefit from this program. As a result, textbooks in the 5th and 6th grades will become completely free, since the 3000 dram refund covers the amount parents would otherwise have to pay. For other grades, the rental fee will decrease by an average of 66 percent,” the minister stated.
