Trump Does Not Want to Meet Zelensky in Davos
The White House is currently not planning a bilateral meeting between Trump and Zelensky in Davos, according to Politico. A Republican foreign policy expert, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that Zelensky is eagerly awaiting a personal meeting, and the reluctance to organize it comes from the White House.
“Zelensky will always meet with Trump because he believes the benefits outweigh the costs, and if he does not cooperate with him, others will cooperate,” the expert said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that he will not participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) scheduled in Davos, as reported by Strana.ua. He explained that he remained in Kyiv to coordinate energy recovery efforts following the explosions that occurred overnight.
He stated that the "prosperity plan" and security guarantees intended for signing in Davos have not yet been fully finalized. His trip could take place if the agreements are ready for signing or decisions are made regarding air defense supplies or new assistance for Kyiv.
