Russia Will Not Allow Its Legal Rights to Be Taken Lightly: Lavrov
Russia will consistently defend its interests and will not allow its legal rights to be taken lightly, stated Sergey Lavrov, the Foreign Minister of Russia.
“Russia will consistently defend its interests—neither demanding the legal rights of anyone else nor allowing ours to be perceived lightly,” Lavrov said during the summary press conference of Russia's diplomatic activities in 2025.
Earlier, Lavrov criticized the U.S. for the arrest of Venezuela's president. “I have already pointed out how troubling the start of this year has been. We witnessed unprecedented events—the brutal armed invasion of Venezuela by the U.S., which resulted in dozens of casualties and injuries, and the kidnapping and exile of the legitimate president, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife,” he stated during the 2025 summary press conference of Russia's diplomatic activities.
