President of Armenia's Skiing and Snowboarding Federation Resigns
The President of Armenia's Skiing and Snowboarding Federation, Gagik Sargsyan, has resigned. He announced this on his Facebook page.
"I have decided to resign from my position as the President of the Skiing Federation of Armenia. This was a very difficult and complex decision for me. Everything that has a beginning also has an end. There are several reasons for this. The main reason is the lack of a working atmosphere that is necessary for the development of skiing in the Republic of Armenia, the will that needs to exist, but this cannot be one-sided. In other words, it is impossible to develop these sports only through the efforts of the federation or by being solely the president of the federation," said Gagik Sargsyan.
He asserted that for years, all their proposals, requests, and appeals directed at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports remained unresolved.
It is noteworthy that during the Tour de Ski competition, the Ministry had inquired about covering the word “Azerbaijan” on the uniform of the Armenian skier, to which Sargsyan responded, "The act of our athlete is more than clear, and we believe it does not require clarification."
