Donald Trump has repeatedly stated his intention to bring Greenland under U.S. control. He argues that the U.S. has “national security interests” in Greenland, as the waters surrounding the island are filled with Russian and Chinese vessels. However, Danish armed forces have rejected the U.S. president's claims, noting that there are no Russian or Chinese ships near Greenland.
