Changes in the Real Estate Market
Radical changes are expected in the processes of buying and renting real estate in Armenia. Suren Tovmasyan, the head of the State Committee of the Real Estate Cadastre, announced that a new legislative requirement will come into force in the second half of 2026, which will mandate that specialists engaged in real estate activities must undergo certification and pass relevant tests.
“A special system will be created to check all qualitative parameters of real estate. Only after passing the appropriate verification will the property be allowed to be put up for sale or rent. Property owners will have the opportunity to hand over their properties to professional management and receive income without unnecessary administrative hassles. Clear professional standards will also be established for individuals and organizations engaged in property management. These steps are aimed at increasing the transparency of the real estate market and controlling the quality of services provided,” stated Suren Tovmasyan.
