Syrian Army Fully Restores Control Over Euphrates Dam
The Syrian Arab Army has fully restored control over the Euphrates Dam, returning the management of its water resources and hydroelectric facilities to specialized government personnel and technicians, following years of control by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The Euphrates Dam is a crucial infrastructure for Syria's water supply and energy production. Its hydroelectric plant, located on the right bank of the dam, includes eight generating blocks, each capable of producing 110 megawatts, supplying electricity to a large part of the region.
Officials from the Ministry of Energy have emphasized that the restoration of the dam not only secures a strategic position in northeastern Syria but also reinstates essential services for millions of people, strengthening the government's ability to manage water resources and maintain electricity supply throughout the country.
Additionally, the Syrian army has established control over the Al-Omar oil field and the Conico gas field. Al-Omar is the country's largest oil field, and control over it ensures significant oil revenues, strengthening political and economic influence in the region.
