Armenian Central Bank on Social Package Program

The Central Bank of Armenia informs that banks serving accounts of beneficiaries under the social package program are not authorized to refuse account openings to citizens who meet the requirements set by the program and the bank. Furthermore, banks cannot make the opening of an account conditional on utilizing other services (for example, salary transfers, acquiring additional services, etc.).

This information comes from the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.

“Accordingly, in case of any issues related to the opening of social package accounts, we kindly request you to submit a written complaint to the official email address of the respective bank, detailing the case and requesting account opening along with clarifications on the reasons for refusal. In the copy of the application, please also mention the Central Bank's email address: [email protected],” reads the statement.
