Zakhrova Comments on Solovyov's Statement
It is unacceptable to engage in such manipulations, said Maria Zakhrova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, speaking about Solovyov's controversial statement and, in particular, the reaction it sparked in Armenian society.
“First of all, this is a journalist's opinion, I emphasize - an opinion. Secondly, this opinion was expressed on the private TV channel 'Solovyov Live.' Thirdly, this opinion was actually formulated as a question (I relied on the direct speech). It was not a statement, but a question; I do not know if it was rhetorical or something else. Fourthly, these expressions were clearly and absolutely provocatively presented by sofa analysts as Russia's official position. This is unacceptable. Our country and the peoples of the South Caucasus and Central Asia have historically been connected by fraternal relations, strategic partnerships, alliances, and brotherly friendship,” Zakhrova noted during her briefing.
