Denmark's Foreign Minister: We Were Unable to Convince the U.S. to Abandon Its Desire to Annex Greenland
We were unable to convince the United States to abandon its desire to annex Greenland. We still have differences on this issue, said Denmark's Foreign Minister following a trilateral meeting at the White House.
“Today we met with Vance and Rubio. We came to discuss a number of issues regarding the security of Greenland and the Arctic. The Kingdom of Denmark has already reinforced its own contribution by allocating additional resources for military capabilities. Not sled dogs, but ships, drones, fighter jets, and so on. And we are undoubtedly prepared to do more. We will continue negotiations and have decided to create a high-level working group to explore whether we can find a common way forward,” the Foreign Minister stated.
He noted that any violation of Denmark and Greenland's territorial integrity would be completely unacceptable. The Danish Foreign Minister added that there is no threat from either Russia or China in Greenland.
