Ambulance Overturns, 14 Vehicles Collide in Tavush Region; Injured Reported
Today, January 14, a traffic accident occurred in the Tavush region. According to Shamshyan.com, around 06:30, an ambulance overturned due to icy road conditions in the administrative area of Teghut along the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway. As a result of the accident, a nurse was injured and transported to the Dilijan Medical Center.
A criminal investigation has been initiated by the investigative department, which is currently determining the identities of the driver and the injured party. It has been reported that the ambulance was registered to the Berd Medical Center in the Berd community of Tavush, and they were returning to the Berd Medical Center after transporting a patient to Yerevan.
Another incident was reported due to icy road conditions resulting in a major chain collision in the Ararat region. Around 07:50, near the Marmarashen bridge in the Masis enlarged community along the Yerevan-Eraskh highway, 14 vehicles collided over a stretch of approximately one kilometer. Fortunately, preliminary reports indicate that there were no injuries.
However, some drivers at the scene claimed that three people sustained injuries, and this information is currently being clarified by patrolling officers and the Masis police department. The road was completely covered in ice, and the servicing company did not take any measures to treat it with a mixture of salt and sand. Several vehicles also veered off the roadway as a result of the collision.
