Transfer of the Nobel Peace Prize to Trump is ruled out, committee states

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has announced that María Corina Machado, the Venezuelan opposition figure and winner of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, is not eligible to transfer her award to U.S. President Donald Trump. This clarification was published in the committee's official statement.

The Nobel Committee emphasized that the prize cannot be revoked, divided, or transferred to another individual. The statement notes that the decision regarding the awarding of the prize is final and not subject to review according to Article 10 of the Nobel Foundation's statutes.

This response from the committee followed an interview that María Corina Machado gave to Fox News, where she stated that she was willing to transfer her prize to Donald Trump following actions taken by the U.S. against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

However, the Nobel Committee highlighted that such a step is legally and statutorily impossible, regardless of the content of announcements or political developments.
