The Armenian Government's Email System Hacked, Data Breach Now for Sale: Lawyer Gohar Meloyan

Lawyer Gohar Meloyan wrote on his Facebook page: “According to one of the well-known channels in the field of cybersecurity, the email system of the Armenian government has been hacked, resulting in a large-scale data breach that is being sold on various cybercriminal forums. According to disseminated information, the breach includes approximately 8 million files of sensitive state communications.

Relevant state authorities must refute or confirm this information as soon as possible, and if confirmed, they should undertake proportionate actions to: 1. assess the damage caused, 2. minimize it as much as possible, 3. identify the perpetrators, and 4. hold them accountable. If this information is true, this is yet another serious alert that our personal data, as well as documents implying state and military secrets, are at risk and unprotected,” wrote lawyer Gohar Meloyan.
