Father Aram Asatryan Issues Statement

Father Aram Asatryan has addressed the latest actions of spiritual fathers in a post on his social media page, stating:

“Dear faithful sisters and brothers, when in September I made three posts about phenomena that distort our ecclesiastical life and disturb public order, many clergymen, various dubious 'defenders' of the church, fake accounts, and fake personalities rushed to speculate that I was rebelling against a bishop or the catholicos, and aspiring to the Throne of the Illuminator. In reality, I did not mention any bishop's name, nor did I rebel against the person occupying the seat of the catholicos. Instead, I received and continue to receive the most disgusting insults and accusations from around the world. Every random episode unable to pass the entrance exam for the seminary referred to me as Judas. Self-proclaimed 'bishops' with street, uncivilized, and irredeemable scoundrel behavior were threatening me with their characteristic methods and then, succumbing to their own fears, denied the transmitted threats.

Now, when righteous hierarchs stand against the main evil that has befallen our Holy Church, some clergymen consider it their spiritual duty not to remain silent and dare to admonish and lecture the bishops who have proven their righteousness through their own actions, out of conscience and in defense of the truth. I express my deepest gratitude, my filial love, and my thanks to the Honorable Fathers Hovnan, Navasard, Abraham, Apostle, Sion, Vazgen, Anushavan, Vrtanes, Artak, and Gevorg.”
