Syria Gives Kurdish Forces Deadline to Exit Aleppo

The Syrian Ministry of Defense has given the People's Protection Units (YPG) a deadline until 9:00 AM local time to withdraw their forces from Aleppo, as a ceasefire regime will be in effect during that period.

"Armed individuals will be allowed to carry only light personal weapons. The Syrian army will ensure their safe departure and allow them to move to the country's northeastern regions," stated a declaration from the Syrian Ministry of Defense.

The ministry emphasized that this move has been initiated to reduce military tensions in the areas, restore the functioning of government institutions, and facilitate the return of peaceful residents who have abandoned their homes.

The Central Committee of Aleppo reported that during the fighting that began on January 6, six Syrians were killed, 55 – mostly civilians – were injured, and 142,000 people have been evacuated to safe zones.
