Lake Sevan's Level Decreased by 16 cm Compared to Last January

As of January 8, 2026, Lake Sevan is at an elevation of 1900 meters and 22 centimeters above sea level, which is a decrease of 16 centimeters compared to the same date last year. This information comes from the report of the Hydrometeorological and Monitoring Center of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia.

During the first eight days of 2026, a total of 1 million 58 thousand cubic meters of water has been transferred to Lake Sevan via the Arpa-Sevan tunnel. Rivers flowing into Lake Sevan are currently in a winter low-water phase.
