Famous Actor Tom Hardy Could Have Fought Arman Tsarukyan in Yerevan

Tom Hardy, the British actor known for films such as "Venom," "The Dark Knight Rises," and "Mad Max: Fury Road," could have marked his professional grappling debut in Yerevan by competing against UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan at the Hype FC event, as reported by armsport.am.

This offer was disclosed by Arman Martirosyan, one of the Hype FC league leaders, who posted a snippet of his personal correspondence with the actor on social media. Martirosyan stated that Hardy was considered as a replacement for Shara Bullet at the December event.

“Tom Hardy was supposed to fight instead of Shara Bullet in December,” Martirosyan wrote.

In the correspondence, Tom Hardy expressed gratitude for the offer but noted that he could not accept it due to his busy schedule. “Arman, first of all, this is a very generous offer. Where did it come from and why? It seems like a lot more money than what any professional athlete who practices BJJ usually earns. But that's not the point... Since the fight, I have been extremely busy with filming, so... Thank you so much for thinking of me,” he wrote.

Tom Hardy is known for his love of Brazilian jiu-jitsu; he regularly trains, holds a blue belt, and has participated in charity grappling competitions.

Ultimately, Arman Tsarukyan fought Shara Bullet in Yerevan. The match, which lasted six minutes, was conducted under submission and choking techniques only. Neither fighter was able to execute a decisive move, and the bout ended in a draw.
