Post-Influenza A, Many in Russia Face Vision Problems

In Russia, serious complications arising from Influenza A are being reported. Many citizens who have recovered from the illness are complaining of a sharp deterioration in their vision.

According to patient accounts, visual disturbances appear 3-5 days after recovery, presenting as a "fog" in front of the eyes, unclear images, and double vision. Specialists note that such complications can develop either during the illness itself—within a few days—or later, between one to three weeks post-recovery.

Doctors state that Influenza A can affect not only the respiratory system but also the nervous system, potentially leading to temporary or even more serious issues with the optic nerve. Experts advise that any changes in vision following influenza should prompt immediate consultation with a healthcare professional rather than self-treatment.
