Bus Route 97 Falls into Ravine in Nubarashen; Driver Sustains Injuries
Today, December 18, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 22:15, a bus of the 'Zhong Tong' brand serving the city’s route number 97 was parked by the driver, who then exited the vehicle, as reported by Shamshyan.com.
While purchasing coffee, the driver noticed that the bus was rolling backward, breaking gas pipelines and ending up in a ravine. Upon arrival, emergency medical personnel from Yerevan’s 1-03 service provided assistance to the driver, who was then transported to the 'Erebuni' medical center.
According to witnesses at the scene, when the driver realized that the bus was heading toward the ravine, he ran back, attempting to enter the bus to stop it. However, he sustained injuries, and it is still being investigated whether these were caused by the bus itself or by colliding with metal pipes.
The Nubarashen Police Department is compiling documentation regarding the incident, which may be forwarded to the Yerevan Investigative Committee's division for investigating road traffic crimes. The police are working to establish the identity of the driver.
