Vardan Ghukasian's Detention Extended

The detention of Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasian has been extended for three months. It is noteworthy that three members of the National Assembly from the 'Armenia' faction—Mher Melkonyan, Garnik Danielyan, and Gegham Manukyan—have submitted a guarantee to the court for a change in the precautionary measure for Mayor Ghukasian. They have been joined by actor Levon Harutunyan as well.

It should be reminded that Ghukasian was detained on charges of bribery. Previously, we reported that the term of Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasian's detention could be extended by three months. During the court session, presided over by Judge Levon Petrosyan at the Anti-Corruption Court, the prosecuting attorney presented a motion to extend the detention, stating that the grounds for the previously applied precautionary measure had continued to be maintained.
