The Foot of Deceit is Short: Torosyan Discusses Health Insurance for Citizens Over 65

The Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, has addressed the issue of health insurance for citizens aged 65 and over. During a live broadcast on his Facebook page, he notably stated: “Today we will talk about another manipulation. The Prime Minister recently said in the National Assembly that since the main expenses of our senior generation are health-related, and that is true, we all have grandparents, fathers, and mothers in our families who are experiencing health problems, and, essentially, a large portion of these expenses is not compensated by the state. We have decided to include citizens aged 65 and over, over 400,000 citizens, in health insurance.”

“This will incur a monthly expense of 10,800 drams for citizens earning more than 200,000 drams, and therefore, it turns out that the state pays 10,800 drams per month for the insurance of individuals over 65, which can essentially be considered an increase in pensions or benefits directed to this important expense. When the need arises, it will mean that our citizens will be able to benefit from spending not just that amount, but 100,000 drams, several hundred thousand drams, up to several million drams in expenses. Therefore, this is a significant improvement in the lives of our citizens, a considerable alleviation of the burden socially, both for them and for their family members, although I wish everyone health and hope that you do not need to use these services. Stay well.”
