Situation Regarding Security at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant Remains Unstable: Grossi

The situation regarding security at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant continues to remain unstable. This was stated to RIA Novosti by the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi.

"The situation is very unstable and sensitive," he commented on the current nuclear security and physical protection situation.

The official added that the acquisition of a ceasefire regime has become a positive circumstance, allowing for much-needed repair work to be carried out on the "Dneprovskaya" and "Ferosplavnaya" lines.

It is noteworthy that the Zaporizhzhia NPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper River, near the city of Enerhodar. It is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of reactors and approved capacity. The plant has six energy blocks, each with a capacity of 1 GW. In October 2022, the power plant became the property of the Russian Federation.
