Erdogan Discusses Obstacles on Turkey’s Path to EU Membership
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has spoken about the obstacles Turkey faces on its path to EU membership. He noted that Turkey has been waiting for 50 years for the completion of this process, during which it has frequently encountered delays under various pretexts.
“We have come a long way—50 years. Unfortunately, this postponement continues. We have the second-largest land forces in NATO,” Erdogan stated. He pointed out that during this process, Turkey has faced both hidden and overt restrictions, including embargoes. “Despite this, we have continued to develop our defense capabilities. The steps taken by Europe will determine the next phase,” Erdogan added.
