UFC Fighter Justin Gaethje Responds to Arman Tsarukyan's Offer

UFC fighter Justin Gaethje has responded to an offer made by lightweight ranking leader Arman Tsarukyan. Previously, the Armenian fighter indicated that he was ready to assist the American in preparing for his upcoming fight against British fighter Paddy Pimblett.

“I think it was more an attempt to counteract Paddy rather than help me. I’m not planning to drastically change my training regime in preparation for this fight. I trust my team. I can invite training partners, but I’m not going to bring in people I might have to fight in the future. Tsarukyan would be a great sparring partner, but ultimately we might end up facing each other in the octagon. So I don’t think it would be very smart,” Gaethje said in an interview with Submission Radio.

It is worth noting that Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett will fight for the interim title of the UFC lightweight division on January 25 in Las Vegas. Previously, reigning champion Ilia Topuria announced that he would not fight until spring due to family issues.

For the record, 29-year-old Tsarukyan last fought in the UFC on November 22, winning by submission against New Zealander Dan Hooker. In mixed martial arts, the Armenian fighter has participated in 26 bouts, securing 23 victories and suffering 3 losses.
