Hands and Feet Attacks Inflicted on Minor’s Body Parts; Case Sent to Prosecutor

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has obtained substantial evidence during the pre-trial investigation conducted by the Department of Crimes Against Individuals regarding a criminal case that was initiated after an incident between E.H. and A.K. at school on January 31, 2024.

It was revealed during the investigation that A.H., the father of E.H., decided to punish A.K. for the incident. A.H., along with two other individuals, visited A.K.'s residence where they inflicted physical harm to various parts of A.K.'s body using their hands and feet, while also verbally abusing him.

Subsequently, to portray their actions as a mere friendly conversation, A.H. had a pedagogical conversation with A.K., during which he compelled A.K. to apologize to E.H.

As a result of the aforementioned actions, A.K. has suffered severe mental distress. During the investigation, public criminal prosecution was initiated against two individuals under the second part of Article 196 of the Criminal Code (causing severe physical pain or severe mental anguish to a minor by a group of individuals), while one individual was charged under the same article's second part, point 3.

The criminal case has been sent to the supervising prosecutor with an accusatory conclusion for approval and forwarding to the court for substantive examination.
