The Government's Goal is Not Just Raising Salaries: Deputy Prime Minister

The government's goal is not just to raise salaries, as remuneration is not solely about wages. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan during a panel discussion at the first conference of representatives of state bodies in Armenia.

"Remuneration has various components. We have a system of bonuses that is not really an evaluation, because people often fill out evaluations formally and they are not subject to practical discussion. People have already learned that what is called a bonus for their good work is a component of their salary that has been added to their wages. Now we do not want the proposal that the government will discuss and approve in the coming days to become yet another component of salary in people's perception, just with a different name, and that we find ourselves in the same situation months later that we have experienced for years. It must be very clear that this will be an incentive supplement given as a result of job evaluation and measurement,” said Tigran Khachatryan.
