Certain Classes May Shift to Remote Learning

I want to present a summary of the epidemiological situation regarding acute respiratory infections in Armenia. This was announced by Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan.

"We conduct daily monitoring regarding both the incidence of disease and the increase in demand for emergency hospital services, as well as absenteeism in kindergartens and schools. Dear citizens, we do not have a situation that would necessitate halting the educational process in general schools or kindergartens. However, we have a very clear method and outlined working mechanism that allows classes with more than 20% absenteeism to shift to remote learning. We are in daily contact with our educational partners, and based on the results of this follow-up monitoring, classes can independently transition to remote teaching. This is to both protect our children's health and reduce absenteeism in schools, while not disrupting the overall educational process across the country.

I want to reiterate that epidemiological tools must be applied correctly, and recently there have been continuous appeals from citizens in this regard. I want you to know, be aware that all tools are being applied as instructed, and if there is an epidemiological situation that necessitates decisions regarding the general educational process, we will make those decisions, dear citizens.

Stay healthy. We urge citizens who do not have symptoms and are able to be vaccinated to get vaccinated as soon as possible because the currently circulating strain of the flu is the A-type strain and is quite aggressive. The antibodies in the vaccine will certainly form a protective layer, and you will not be infected by this year's aggressive strain or, if you are infected, you will experience much milder symptoms.
