Driving Licenses of Armenia and UAE Citizens to Be Mutually Recognized
Among the decisions not presented at the government meeting on December 4 is a draft resolution to ratify a memorandum of understanding on the mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the United Arab Emirates.
The memorandum will regulate the legal relations regarding driving licenses of Armenia and the UAE. Each party to the memorandum recognizes the valid driving licenses issued to citizens of the other party who arrive for non-residential purposes.
For citizens arriving for residential purposes, each party exempts the applicant from theoretical and practical exams for the exchange of driving licenses issued by the other party.
According to the justification for the draft resolution, ratification of the memorandum will contribute to expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest with countries in the Near and Middle East.
