Alarms are sounded that people are being forced to sell their businesses in my name: Anna Hakobyan

Following my statement about the lack of any connection to the "88" supermarket chain, alarms have been sounded that people are being forced to sell their businesses or lease their spaces by using my name, while closing the businesses operating in those areas. Claims of this nature have also been made in the comments to my aforementioned post. This was stated by Anna Hakobyan, the wife of the Prime Minister of Armenia, on her Facebook page.

“Such actions, if confirmed, are subject to criminal liability. In this regard, I have submitted a request to the Prosecutor General of Armenia today, asking for an official investigation into these alarms. I expect that the activities of the "88" supermarket chain, the conditions of leasing spaces, and the discussions about coercion, threats, or illegal elements will be investigated, and public clarifications will be provided to the community. I call on all entrepreneurs who have been affected by these circumstances to publicly declare this and, at the same time, to contact the law enforcement authorities. It would be logical for the "88" supermarket chain to also provide public clarifications.

I intend to systematically pursue all cases of this kind of speculation regarding my name, to reveal those who commit unacceptable and seemingly criminal acts in my name and hold them accountable under the law,” Hakobyan wrote.
