The Investigative Committee Responds to Allegations of 'Retroactive Wiretapping' Schemes
The AntiCor.am platform has published a material titled 'The Scheme of 'Retroactive Wiretapping' Formed in the Investigative Committee and the NSS: AntiCor's Disclosure,' which has also circulated among certain media outlets. This was reported by Kim Avdalyan, the spokesperson for the Investigative Committee.
According to Avdalyan, 'The author of the material attempted to create the impression that they had communicated with investigators, who allegedly stated that 'they find something,' and afterward, they go to court to obtain retroactive authorization for it.' It was further stated that 'in practice, almost every wiretap is legitimized retroactively, and the offices of judges 'patch up' decisions with backdated dates to create an illusion of legality.'
The information does not correspond to reality at all, is defamatory, and is clearly aimed at discrediting the authority of the institution. We demand a complete refutation of the expressions contained in the publication and urge to refrain from spreading misinformation,' the statement said.
