After the Incident, Children and Parents Have No Issues with Each Other, Says Community Leader

The administrative head of the Vardenis community, Suren Martirosyan, stated in an interview with Aysor.am that following the incident captured in a video, the children and their parents do not have any problems with each other. ‘They acted like kids; it was just an incident,’ he said, adding that the boys have accepted responsibility and met in court.

Martirosyan ruled out the continuation of any conflict between the parents, noting that the situation would have been resolved more quickly if the video had not been circulated. According to him, the incident occurred in September in Noyemberyan, after school, when a fight broke out following comments made by boys from another village. He emphasized that no serious bodily harm was caused. ‘Forensic evidence confirmed that there wasn’t anything serious,’ the community leader stated.

Martirosyan mentioned that the case was initiated not based on a complaint from the parents, but on the content of the video. Several teenagers have been detained, with some having been in custody for 20 days as the trial continues. He noted that both the victim's and the other children’s parents have been heavily affected by the video’s distribution and the ensuing comments.

When asked if one of the participants in the fight is the deputy head of the Armavir Investigative Committee, Martirosyan responded that such claims are driven by personal sentiments. In conclusion, he indicated that efforts are currently being made to calm both parties and resolve the issue.
