The Ministry of Emergency Situations Provides Updates on Ongoing Wildfires
Firefighters across various regions continue to conduct firefighting operations in grassy and wooded areas. Thanks to their intense and systematic actions, numerous fire hotspots have been extinguished and isolated, with ongoing work in several areas maintaining the same momentum.
As of November 26 at 12:00 PM, two of the hotspots from the fire that broke out on November 21 in the Chambarak-Ttujur section of Gegharkunik province have been extinguished due to the operational actions of firefighters, while the fire has been isolated in other areas, and efforts are continuing intensely.
The firefighting operations are under the operational leadership of the appointed Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Director of the Rescue Service, Major General Kamo Tsutsulyan. Over a thousand rescuers from the structural and territorial units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are involved in the extensive firefighting operations, continuously cooperating with the Police, Ecological Inspectorate, and the Ministry of Defense.
Thanks to the systematic and persistent work of firefighters, several wildfires have been successfully extinguished in various areas:
- In the Martuni region of Gegharkunik province, near Spitakasar, Vardenyats mountain pass, near Lchashen, in the mountains adjacent to Zolakar.
- In the mountainous areas of Lori province near Spitak’s Mountain Pass, near Lernajur, Aravashogh, Saratovka-Novoselcov region, and the mountains surrounding Gogaran and Saralanj.
