Dust Concentration in Yerevan Exceeds Permissible Limits

According to the data from the "Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center," in Yerevan, particularly in the Central administrative district, the concentration of dust in the atmosphere has exceeded the permissible limits by 1.4 to 4 times during the period from November 17 to 25.

Gaiane Shahnazaryan, the deputy head of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center, stated this during a meeting with reporters. Brigadier Vardazaryan, deputy head of the rescue service's rescue forces department, added that fires are affecting air pollution.

"From January 1 to November 25, 2025, a total of 9,253 fires have been recorded in Armenia, of which 5,545 occurred in vegetated areas. This is nearly three times more than last year," said Vardazaryan. He noted that out of the 5,545 fires, only 809 occurred in Yerevan, with the rest in the regions.
