New Details on the Fire Erupting in the Chambarak-Ttujur Section from the Ministry of Emergency Situations

On November 21, information was received at the Regional Department of the Emergency Situations Ministry in Gegharkunik Province that a fire had erupted in the Chambarak-Ttujur section, with grasslands burning on the hillside. Appropriate responses have been organized.

The fire extinguishing operations involve rescue teams from the Emergency Situations Ministry’s departments in Yerevan, Gegharkunik, Lori, Kotayk, and Tavush provinces, as well as departments responsible for fire extinguishing and rescue operations, and the special rescue operations center.

Firefighting efforts have been ongoing throughout the night. The fire erupted in three hotspots, two of which were successfully extinguished due to the operational actions of firefighters. The spread of the fire towards forested areas and residential zones has been prevented. Intensive firefighting work continues in the third area.

Currently, 253 rescuers are engaged in firefighting efforts, with 34 auxiliary and 4 main technical units deployed, including the use of drones. A firefighting headquarters has been established on-site to operationally manage the firefighting efforts. Personnel from the Police, Patrol Service, Ecological Patrol Service, and residents of nearby villages are also involved in the firefighting activities.
