Orbán Believes US Plan on Ukraine Could Lead to Trump-Putin Meeting
The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, has announced that the United States has officially conveyed a 28-point peace plan to Ukraine, which he claims includes proposals that Moscow and Washington have already discussed. The Prime Minister stated that the next two to three weeks could be decisive for this process.
According to Orbán, the initial reactions to the American initiative are creating a certain predictability and the opportunity to assess whether the parties can approach a negotiated solution. He emphasized that the publication of the plan has genuinely generated movement within the political arena.
Orbán also reminded that the peace conference scheduled in Budapest is approaching, which, in his opinion, could play a role in the ongoing processes. In Orbán's assessment, the developments could create conditions for a potential meeting between the leaders of the United States and Russia, if the parties see that the negotiating path is the only effective route.
