Galuzin Discusses Russia's Role in Armenia-Azerbaijan Negotiations with Mustafayev

On November 21, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin met with Azerbaijan's Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Russia, Rahman Mustafayev, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry. During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to enhance bilateral relations, building on the declaration on allied cooperation signed in Moscow on February 22, 2022.

The agenda included a timeline for high-level communications, with an emphasis on the progress of economic cooperation and the importance of fully restoring cultural and humanitarian ties. The Russian side stressed the necessity for the prompt release of 11 Russian citizens detained in Baku from June 30 to July 1, viewing it as a significant step towards normalizing bilateral relations.

Regional issues were also discussed, including possible Russian support in resolving relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, based on the trilateral agreements reached between 2020 and 2022. The agenda also addressed maintaining the uninterrupted functioning of the 3+3 regional cooperation platform.
