Three Detained in Armenia for Drug Smuggling and Illegal Trafficking

The investigation into a criminal case involving large-scale drug smuggling and illegal trafficking has been completed by the Main Investigation Department for Economic Crimes and Smuggling of the RA Investigative Committee. According to the information obtained during the investigation, an Armenian citizen illegally acquired a significant amount of methamphetamine and transported it to Armenia hidden under clothing, where they were subsequently arrested by officers of the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

A public criminal prosecution has been initiated against them under the second part of Article 393 and the second part of Article 399 of the Criminal Code. Additionally, a public criminal prosecution has been initiated against two other individuals for the illegal sale or attempted sale of drugs as per the second part of Article 393, Section 3 of the Criminal Code. Pre-trial detention has been applied as a measure of restraint for all three individuals. The criminal case has been sent to the supervising prosecutor with an accusatory conclusion.
