Armenia Committed to Gender Equality in Strategies and Institutional Culture: Paruyr Hovhannesyan
During a meeting with the UN General Assembly President within the framework of the UN Friends Group on Gender Equality, Armenia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Paruyr Hovhannesyan, emphasized that Armenia remains committed to ensuring gender equality in strategies and institutional culture.
It was noted that at the 58th session of the Human Rights Council, Armenia, together with Estonia, France, Costa Rica, Chile, Japan, and Kenya, initiated a statement regarding digital technologies and the rights of women and girls, calling for concrete actions to incorporate gender issues within the emerging frameworks of digital policy and artificial intelligence.
It was underscored that gender equality is not just about numbers but also about the rights of women's voices and the substantive participation of women in peace, digital transformation, climate action, and governance processes.
