Mirzoyan and Syrian Foreign Minister Discuss Cooperation

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, had a phone conversation with the Foreign Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic, Assad Al-Shaybani, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed potential developments in diplomatic relations between Armenia and Syria, as well as deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest. They agreed to activate political dialogue and expand cooperation through joint efforts, including reciprocal visits.

It was emphasized that strong friendships between the two countries and their peoples serve as a solid foundation for this purpose.

Priorities were identified as economic and investment cooperation, as well as humanitarian programs. In this context, Minister Mirzoyan reaffirmed Armenia’s willingness to continue supporting humanitarian demining efforts.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Assad Al-Shaybani also addressed regional developments. The Syrian Foreign Minister congratulated Mirzoyan on the agreements reached in Washington on August 8 regarding the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the parties discussed further steps to strengthen peace.
