Claims about Administrative Resource are Brazen Lies: RPA MP on Vagharsapat Elections
ARPA 'Civil Contract' faction MP Lilit Stepanyan has commented on the Vagharsapat elections and the discussions surrounding them on Facebook. She stated that the topic remains a focal point of media discourse, but, according to her, it is difficult to stay silent and not respond to certain statements.
Stepanyan denied allegations regarding the use of administrative resources, calling them "brazen lies." She recalled various methods employed in the past, emphasizing that such phenomena do not exist today. According to her, previously, data from public system employees were collected, pressures were applied, special pens, 'carousels' were used, envelopes were mentioned, and schools and teachers were involved in the propaganda, while after elections, people lost their jobs.
The MP noted that today, such tactics are not practiced in elections, and no one has been compelled to go to the polls or vote for a specific candidate. She also responded to the phrase "the farmer voted," criticizing such an approach and reminding that cities are sustained thanks to the villages.
Stepanyan added that she is grateful for the changes of 2018 and congratulated Argishti Mekhakyan on being elected as community mayor, noting that he has endured significant pressures since November 2020.
