In response to a question about whether Trump is ready to support the legislation, the official stated: "He will sign it, but the White House will insist on guarantees that the Republican Party will maintain control over the sanctions. It has always been important for the White House and the President that the sanctions package includes a provision that guarantees the President's authority to make the final decisions regarding sanctions. Therefore, if that is included, I believe the President will consider the possibility of signing the bill," the official said.
