Trump to Sign Bill on Sanctions Against Russia: White House
President Trump is prepared to sign a bill imposing sanctions on Russia, provided that it preserves the final decision-making authority regarding the restrictions. This was reported by a senior official at the White House to Reuters.
In response to a question about whether Trump is ready to support the legislation, the official stated: "He will sign it, but the White House will insist on guarantees that the Republican Party will maintain control over the sanctions. It has always been important for the White House and the President that the sanctions package includes a provision that guarantees the President's authority to make the final decisions regarding sanctions. Therefore, if that is included, I believe the President will consider the possibility of signing the bill," the official said.
