Conflict Between Armenia and Azerbaijan Enters New Phase, Says President of Turkey's Grand National Assembly

Turkey's Grand National Assembly President Numan Kurtulmuş addressed the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan during the 23rd autumn plenary session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, stating that it has entered a new phase.

“For 30 years, the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which has been a source of instability in the Caucasus, has entered a new phase with the removal of the ‘occupation’ of Nagorno-Karabakh. Azerbaijan and Armenia have begun to address their existing issues through negotiations, just as outlined in the fundamental mission of the OSCE,” he remarked.

Kurtulmuş expressed hope that if a long-term agreement is reached between the two countries, the Caucasus and their region will regain a sense of peace.
