The Main Issue in the West is Delivering a Beneficial Agenda to the Public: Zakharova
The Western media system no longer aims to inform the public; their main issue is delivering a beneficial agenda to the population. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“A system has emerged in the West where the purpose of public and political information has essentially ceased to be informing. It has been replaced by the task of influencing, reproducing a convenient agenda, and adapting it to the desired final outcome,” said the diplomat.
According to her, when someone “deviates from the mainstream,” investigative journalism is labeled as conspiracy theory, and those expressing alternative views are seen as representatives of the “left,” “right,” or even “extremist views.”
