Restoration of Sanctions Will Not Affect Russia and Iran's Nuclear Projects, Araghchi
The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that the restored restrictions imposed by the UN Security Council on Iran will not change the current cooperation with Russia. He made this remark in an interview with RIA Novosti, emphasizing that the Russian-Iranian projects in the nuclear sector are continuing as planned.
The minister clarified that the UN Security Council resolutions that have been restored following the 2015 nuclear agreement do not create new obstacles for Moscow and Tehran's joint energy initiatives. Araghchi noted that both parties are continuing to fulfill their obligations according to the agreed timeline.
It is noteworthy that several UN Security Council resolutions, which impose restrictions on Iran, have come back into force. These were reinstated at the initiative of France, the United Kingdom, and Germany, regarding provisions that were removed under the nuclear deal. Iran and Russia continue to collaborate in the peaceful nuclear sector while maintaining existing agreements.
