The Building of the Journalists' Union Will Be Returned to the State: Gabrielian
Member of the Civil Contract faction Sisak Gabrielian announced on his social media page that the property of the Journalists' Union should be returned to the Republic of Armenia. According to him, a claim has already been submitted to the court, and a criminal case has also been initiated.
He noted that the area is located in the center of Yerevan, covering around 2400 square meters, with a market value of approximately 3-5 million US dollars. Gabrielian added that the Prosecutor General's Office has acted on the letter he and National Assembly President Alen Simonyan sent months ago.
The deputy emphasized that this is just one of the thousands of properties that, in their opinion, have become the property of the Republic of Armenia after independence but were transferred unlawfully to individuals or organizations. He stated that most of these properties have never served the public interest, and representatives of the sector have received almost nothing from the sale or rental income of these assets.
Gabrielian reported that after examining the documents of the Journalists' Union, the Prosecutor's Office submitted a report of a crime to the Anti-Corruption Committee. The administrative court is set to review the Prosecutor's claim soon regarding the annulment of the documents and the return of the property to the Republic of Armenia.
