Armenian Deputy Prime Minister's Response to the Renovation of the Yereakh–Nakhchivan Railway
The office of Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan has commented on the renovation of the railway between Yereakh and Nakhchivan in response to a query from Sputnik Armenia. Previously, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan announced that there were no funds allocated in the draft state budget for 2026 for the renovation of the railway line from the village of Yereakh to the Nakhchivan border.
We inquired from the Deputy Prime Minister's office, which leads a new commission on unblocking communications with Azerbaijan, whether Armenia plans to renovate that section and, if so, through what means. The media also asked whether there is an agreement with Azerbaijan that they would also restore their section of the railway from Sadarak to Yereakh.
The office responded, “The issues you mentioned are currently under discussion. Official announcements will be made regarding final decisions, solutions, and agreements on these matters.”
