Serzh Sargsyan on the Ban of Traveling Abroad
The third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, has stated that his trip abroad was canceled due to the actions of prosecutors. In a podcast interview for "Imnemyumin," Sargsyan mentioned that once the restrictions preventing him from leaving the country were lifted, he planned to travel abroad for 8-9 days starting November 8 and return.
However, he noted that the following day prosecutors filed complaints with the courts, which were subsequently rejected. Afterward, Sargsyan learned in the late evening that the Investigative Committee was summoning him for questioning regarding another criminal case.
"The next day I went, and a restriction was imposed preventing me from traveling abroad," Sargsyan said, adding that the intent of these actions was to prevent him from leaving the country.
